Here you will find information on our liquid metal samples. Including Weathered Steel, Hot Rolled Steel, Blackened Steel and Concrete. Thanks for your patients as our site is new. More information and many more samples will be added shortly. We are testing the site. In the meantime If there is a metal finish you need us to create just let us know.
This is just the look of the sample. Metal, Texture, and Patina.
There are 4 main substrates we make our samples with. MDF, Concrete, Plywood and Sheet Metals
These are different from any other sample. One example is Corten Steel. More on our Steel below.
Our Liquid Metals can be used in many different ways in various environments. There are so many choices and combinations of metals, patina, textures and substrates, so we break the choices down into three main catogories
This is a sample of our hot rolled steel. The blue and grey shades are from the manufacturing process of hot rolled steel. Above we mentioned that our steel samples and panels are different than our other metal samples. This is because we dont apply our liquid metal to these panels. We clean and seal the natural steel to protect it from rusting.
For our black steel we either use hot rolled or cold rolled steel. We clean the natural steel and then apply our patina process to get the steel the desired black tone we are looking for. We then seal the steel to prevent it from rusting and also to protect the patina from rubbing or bleeding onto other surfaces. Our blackened steel can have more movement in the patina if desired.
This is a sample of our Weathered or Rusted Steel. Our rusted panels are not like other rusted panels out there. The rusted panels we create do not continue to rust, the rust does not rub off and the rust does not bleed onto other surfaces. The back of the steel panel is also protected from weathering. These panels are created for exterior environments but of course they are great indoors also because the rust will not rub off onto clothes. We can also create rust on any substrate, for example by coating a panel of MDF or Concrete with our Liquid Iron, it now has a surface that can be rusted and sealed.
Copper. Brass. Bronze.
White Bronze. Iron. Nickel. Nickel-Silver. Aluminum. Zinc. Stainless Steel.
Wood. Plywood. MDF. Concrete. Sheet Metal.
We have already looked at steel above. Now we will look at other types of samples. These are different substrates with our liquid metals applied. We divide the metals into two groups, Red and Grey.
Copper is and element. It is the base metal of its alloys, such as Brass and Bronze. Copper is great for polishing and for acheiving endless color ranges. We have many copper samples that will be added to this page very soon.
Like copper, brass is great to patina for many color variations and it polishes beautifully also. Brass contains two main elements, Copper and Zinc. Catoragised as a red metal because of its copper content but known for its beautiful yellow luster. Many more brass samples to be added right away.
Bronze is a tough metal. It is great for darkening with patina but we like alot of its original deep color to standout even when patinaed. It also plays well with heavy or light textures. Bronze contains two main elements, copper and tin. More bronze samples very shortly.
The metal can be layered inorder to allow wood grains to show through. This works best with heavier deep grains. Grain can also be covered if desired.
Nickel is a beautiful metal, it has a rich deep grey. Not all greys are the same. Aluminum has a whiter grey. Zinc has a slight bluish grey. Iron has a dark grey. White Bronze has a very nice grey like nickel only it is lighter.
Even though iron has a very mutted grey color, it can be patinated to bring out a brighter steel look as in this panel. Iron is ver versitile, it has many different faces and goes with any decor or space.
